So that's what Rick called a 'Cronenbergian monster'. I sense that Cronenberg possesses a way of making some true Cthulhuian type of horror: not just withholding the horrifying reality til the end, but keeping the balance between showing the horror in the flesh and hiding its ethology. Plus, the psychiatrist is truly the new sorcerer of modern time (according to Foucault)
